Finding a Beautiful Wedding Gown

Beautiful Wedding Gowns

A Beautiful Wedding Gown – the Perfect Compliment.

There are a lot of future brides out there that consider buying a beautiful wedding dress to be somewhat of a challenging activity. Because many girls have had a picture in their head of their special day for such a long time actually transferring those thoughts, and their wedding dress choice, from their dreams into reality is difficult. However with some carefully thought out research locating THE beautiful wedding gown can be as easy as saying 123.

Think of the Style of Dress First?

Before thinking about any other factor the initial thoughts should be based around the style of wedding dress that the bride would like to wear. In a basic sense there are 5 styles of wedding dresses, they have their own personality but all are beautiful and elegant. The important thing is to choose the style that fits well with the type of person you are and flatters your body type, sticking to these basic thoughts will ensure that you look your best on your special day.

The basic styles are as follows:

1. The A-line dress.
2. The Ball gown.
3. The Empire dress.
4. The Sheath dress (also known as the Column dress).
5. Mermaid style dress.

Let’s now look at each one in a little more detail.

The A-line Gown.

The most visual factor of an A-line dress is the fact that they are fitted around the bodice and flare out, quite drastically, from the waist. This reason they are called A-line is because they look like the letter A. They are also commonly known as princess dresses and probably one of the most popular styles of wedding gown.

The Ball Gown Style.

The ball gown style dress is similar to those dresses that you visualize out of fairy tales and has  a tight fitted bodice with a full skirt.

The Empire Dress.

The third style of wedding dress is an empire dress, which features an empire waistline. An empire waistline starts right under the bust line, and flows down the rest of the dress. This is a classic and beautiful wedding gown style.

The Sheath Gown

A more modern style is the sheath or column dress. This dress has a straight line all the way down, and is extremely flattering on smaller brides.

Mermaid Dresses.

Finally, there is the mermaid style of wedding gown, which is a fitted dress with a skirt that flares at the knee.

Necklines and Sleeve Considerations

All five styles support different necklines and sleeves; you can mix and match to find the dress that looks best on you. Bateau, halter, scoop, square, and v-neck necklines all make for beautiful wedding gowns. Try on dresses with a variety of necklines to see what flatters your features the best. You also need to decide what type of sleeves you want on your dress.

Some of this may be determined by when you are getting married (long sleeves might not be comfortable for a summer wedding!) or where you are getting married (some churches do not allow strapless dresses). Strapless dresses are extremely popular right now. Spaghetti straps and sleeveless designs also make beautiful wedding gowns. You can also find beautiful wedding gowns with short sleeves, ¾ length sleeves, and long sleeves.
